1.1       ScanVision

Utilizing technology nearly identical to the commonly used EKG/ECG, MyoVision’s ScanVision allow you to do a “quick measure” of muscle tension about the spine, showing muscular compensation patterns for various spinal disorders.

The bars extend outward from the spine, showing muscle tension levels on both left and right sides of the spine. The length of the bars are proportional to the amount of muscle tension. The readings are presented numerically as “microvolts” or millionths of a volt, and added all together into what we call the “EP Stress Score.”

MyoVision’s ScanVision™ uses Static sEMG (surface electromyography) to measure electrical activity of the paraspinal muscles while weight bearing. It effectively provides a quantifiable means of showing patients what you feel with your hands. Simply put, it is an electronic form of palpation. The device effectively and scientifically measures the muscular response to spinal subluxation. E-Scan shows the results, in an easy to understand graphic, the levels of muscle tension about the spine. The ScanVision’s patented 5 electrode wirefree design allows you to perform the test in less than a minute. MyoVision’s proprietary sEMG technology is a completely safe, painless and non-invasive method of evaluating spinal health utilizing the well-established EKG technology.

1.1.1         EP Stress Score

The EP (Electrophysiologial) is the sum of all muscle activity around the spine, measured in microvolts. It makes understanding the Static sEMG a snap for both practitioners and patients alike.

It is best used as a baseline for the purpose of tracking patient progress over time. Many think of it as a blood pressure cuff, or EKG for spinal health. The test results can be immediately emailed straight to the patient’s smartphone. They’ll be able to track their own progress, putting the patient in control of their healthcare and engaging family members, friends and loved ones in their care.

DYNAROM

DynaROM is a functional test instrument that measures muscle guarding and range of motion at the same time as the patient moves. By moving the patient, we effectively elicit measurable pain responses and guarding when soft tissue injury is present.

Over the past 12 years, we’ve noticed that a large percentage of patients display abnormal muscle guarding via DynaROM sEMG, despite having a relatively normal range of motion.

DynaROM is the latest in FDA cleared, class II diagnostic equipment. It effectively and objectively measures the impact of soft tissue injury by documenting pain in motion.

The brilliance of the DynaROM design is that we perform the exact same exam as endpoint ROM, but are measuring the muscular guarding response simultaneously. This means that other than attaching electrodes, it takes the exact same time as ROM testing. And it pays 5 times more than ROM testing, yet allows us to see muscle guarding in response to pain. This can significantly increase sensitivity to soft tissue injury.
